The Quarry Splash Pad ~ Cedar Park, TX

There are so many GREAT Splash Pads around the Austin area! But this one really rivals them all! The Quarry Splash Pad, located in the Southwest Williamson Regional County Park in Leander, is a refreshing outing for all ages.
It just opened last June (2011), so it is in great shape with jets of water spraying you everywhere you go.  Parents, word of warning, do not expect to follow your kiddos around and NOT get wet!
Most of the kids enjoy the slide, which is not very slippery, so even the young ones can enjoy it.
We liked hanging out in the partially-shaded sandpit. If you do get covered in sand, there are showers to rinse you off available.

It is much bigger than your typical square splash pad.  With 3 specific play areas, it can be a bit tricky to keep an eye on multiple children.  There is a great deal of shaded pavilions with lots of picnic tables, so it makes for a fun lunch date too. A snack bar is open most days too.
There is a small fee for admittance ($1 in an honor system cash machine), but it is well-spent to spend an hour or so cooling off from the brutal Texas heat!
