Sweet Berry Farm in Fall ~ Marble Falls, TX

We took a little trip last week with friends out to the Hill Country to Sweet Berry Farm.  We had been last Spring to pick strawberries and couldn't wait to see what all the "Harvest of Fall Fun" was all about.

We opted on a weekday because every weekend this month has been dominated with soccer & football games.  So the bigger kids missed out but it ended up being a perfect day to take your toddlers & preschoolers.
First up, let's get the obligatory pumpkin patch pictures done so we can run around and enjoy this fun farm!  Sweet Berry Farm has TONS of fun photo opps, with old trucks, tractors, hay bales, and lots of brightly colored pumpkins.  I just love how the orange shows up in pictures.
Pictures done, we were ready to explore.  On weekdays, a few of the events are closed, like face painting, pony rides, and the grill.  But for the most part, there is a great deal of fun things to do.
The boys in particular enjoyed feeding the goats.  For a quarter, you can grab a cup of good food and meet these friendly guys up close and personal.  They have one of the more fancier homes that I have ever seen.....
What else to do? There is a maze for the little kiddos, the big Berry Bounce (jumping on a big pillow), stuff a scarecrow, hayrides, and pumpkin painting.  We didn't realize it until we were leaving, but there is a tunnel that takes you under the road and to the other side of the farm.  That is where you will find the gorgeous flowers for picking (and more photo opps), the barrel train, and the Texas Hayfield maze (ages 6 and up).  Each of the events are reasonably priced.
Bring a picnic lunch, as there is ample seating under the shady trees or out in the sunlight.
With all there is to do there, our boys were just happy to run freely, chase each other around the pumpkins, and play in the bed of the trucks.  With so much space to do this in, it was nice to sit back as a parent and let them play.  I can't say how crowded it would be on a weekend to allow that, so it is nice that the farm is open on weekdays.
And yes, there were plenty of pumpkins - from one that were bigger than my 3 year old, to Cinderellas and other fancier versions.  We had fun seeing all the different types and even selecting a few to purchase to take home.
Parents come out for some great pictures, and yes, you will find plenty of opportunities to take some great shots.  But the kids come out to enjoy a fun, farm environment.  Even with Halloween almost here, the fall continues on, and Sweet Berry Farm has tons of fun still to offer through November 11.  Make some plans to go on out and enjoy it!
