Each year, the Christmas Season begins with one of the most anticipated shopping events in Austin, the Junior League of Austin's A Christmas Affair. The Twelve Days of Christmas, the 2012 theme, kicks off on Wednesday, November 12 and goes through Sunday, November 18 at the Palmer Event Center in downtown Austin.
A Christmas Affair is a wonderful shopping event, featuring various local and national vendors. The Palmer Event center is wonderfully decorated for the season - no, not just wonderfully - breathtakingly decorated - enough to inspire you to redecorate your entire house for the holidays! And the shopping is such fun with everything from clothes to toys to art work and of course, lots of great Holiday Decorations. It really does put you in the mood for the season to begin.
The BEST part about the shopping event is that you are giving back to our local community. The Twelve Days of Christmas reflect twelve months of community impact to the Central Texas community that the Junior League of Austin is focused on this year. The proceeds raised during the four-day holiday market help local organizations such as Coats for Kids and FIT (Food in Tummies).
There are a ton of fun ways to enjoy this event with your family or with a group of girlfriends. Here are some highlights:

Your turtle doves will enjoy breakfast and fly away with Santa featuring the entertainment of Joe McDermott.
My True Love Gave to Me Family Movie Night - $25 per guest
Saturday, November 17th 6 PM - 8 PM
Guests will enjoy a fun, interactive movie and sing-along. Guests are encouraged to bring a new or gently used coat to help kick off Coats for Kids coat drive.
Little Leaping Lords & Ladies Lunching - $25 per guest
Sunday, November 18th 10 AM - 11:30 AM
Your little lords and ladies will enjoy brunch with Santa featuring the entertainment of the Austin City Ballet.

Kendra Scott designed her first ornament exclusively for The Twelve Days of Christmas. Have this ornament or your favorite Kendra Scott jewelry signed by the designer.
A Christmas Affair is one of my favorite events to kick off the Christmas Season - the decorations are fantastic. The vendors are fun. There is excitement in the air. So grab a few girlfriends and have a great time!
