North Pole Flyer ~ Austin, TX

Coolest way to meet Santa??  Aboard the North Pole Flyer, of course!! Last year, we had the privilege of taking a Christmas trip aboard the Austin Steam Train's North Pole Flyer.  As a momma of 2 boys, I of course, looked like the hero in their eyes!
The Austin Steam Train's annual North Pole Flyer has several daily runs on various weekend dates in December (check full schedule here).  It offers seats in it's comfortable Coach, Excursion, and First Class cars. And you can reserve full lounge cars to host an event as well.
Beginning in Cedar Park, the ride takes you out past Bertram and back.  It doesn't stop and unload, as the 2 hour ride is full of fun events, from elves that read fun stories, to visits with Mrs. Claus.  She brings warm cookies to enjoy!
But everyone is there to see the main guy....Santa Claus arrives and all the children are in awe.  Jolly Old Saint Nick is on the train!!  He spends quality time with each child, posing for pictures and asking each one what they would like for Christmas.
Honestly, this was one of my kiddos favorite holiday events that we have been a part of. The ride is not rushed, kids enjoy the freedom of looking out the windows and waving at the cars as they travel through intersections.  Parents can relax and enjoy conversation.  And you get some pretty terrific pictures out of the night.

But that's not what you came for - you came to make some precious memories.  And that's exactly what you did.
