Top 5 Things to do in Grapevine

There is a great city that is smack dab in the middle of Dallas & Fort Worth that I advise everyone to visit. Why? Because Grapevine, Texas is so family friendly and there is TONS of fun things to do there! So rather than me just tell you all there is, I thought it would be fun to ask my children, from their perspective, what they liked best to do in Grapevine.

I asked my 12 and 10 year old their favorites and why, and this is what they said:

1. LEGOLAND Discovery Center - My son is a HUGE fan of LEGOs, so when he heard they were opening a LEGOLAND in Texas, it became a priority to visit. All of my children had a great time riding the rides, watching the show, playing on the indoor playscape, and of course, building. In fact, they could have stayed there all day building.....

2. SEA LIFE Aquarium - We really enjoyed the SEA LIFE Aquarium, as you could get up close to all the sea life in unique ways. Glass bubbles and domes, and tunnels allowed you to crawl into the action and see the stingrays and sharks swim right past you.

3. Grapevine Vintage Railroad - One of the first steam trains my children ever traveled on was with the Grapevine Vintage Railroad. They do an excellent job of making you feel like you stepped back in time and are lumbering down the tracks. During the summer, there are short rides on Fridays, or you can ride all the way down to the Fort Worth Stockyards if you choose.

4. Great Wolf Lodge - Most everyone knows the fantastic Great Wolf Lodge and it's amazing indoor waterpark. But did you know they have amazing games like Magiquest, a theater and a spa just for kids too? Themed rooms, character meals, and storytime in front of the big clock, this hotel has it going on.

5. Gaylord Texan - Another great hotel in Grapevine that we are in awe of is the Gaylord Texan. Great for family escapes, they have a fantastic water park too - Paradise Springs - and Dreamworks Pictures character events every weekend. It's also home to the famous ICE! show each holiday season.
