10 Adventure Gift Ideas for Austin, Texas ~ 2013

I put this list of Adventure Christmas Gift Ideas for the Austin, TX area together last year and it was so popular of a post, I decided to update it for y'all this year!

Do you have an adventure-some person to buy for?  Want to buy an "activity" rather than a gift card or sweater?  I have put together a list of fun activities available in the Central Texas area that you can give an individual or a family this holiday season.  Not in Central Texas?  Maybe this list will give you some great ideas to look for in your area.

Here are 10 Adventure Gift Ideas for Austin:

A Zip Line Tour: Enjoy flying over Lake Travis on a 2 hour zip line tour that takes you across one of the longest Zip lines in the world and in Texas!! We did this last spring as a family and had SO much fun!  Gift certificates are available to purchase. Lake Travis Zipline Adventures

Stand Up Paddle-boarding: Get the whole family involved in this fun sport on Town Lake.  Lessons and/or rentals are available and even the younger kids would enjoy this one.

Central Market Cooking Class: Perfect for that little chef or teen who wants to learn how to make something special.  Some of the classes are great for the whole family as well.  Many different offerings - January has Pizza-Making to Sushi 101 to Mardi Gras.  Check out their complete list of classes here.

Wild Cave Tour:  The folks at Longhorn Cavern State Park lead you on a hour and a half private tour that only you get to see.  "Crawl, Climb, and squeeze through tight passages" - Ages 11 and up are invited.

Go Skydiving in a Building: Take a flight with your loved one or the entire family at iFly Austin.  Available for most ages, this 1-2 minute flight allows you to fly! What a unique experience and one that will be remembered for a long time. iFly Austin

Ride an Austin Water Bike: Explore Lady Bird Lake on a water bike with a tour or hourly rental. Gift cards available.

Segway Tour: This is a FUN way to see Austin.  There are several "tours" to choose from, even a "cruise" if you are more interested in cruising around on a Segway and not really seeing sights. Riders must be at least 14 years old.

Austin Food Tour: Entice your taste buds by visiting so of Austin's beast eateries on an Austin Food Tour.  There are several to choose from. Tours are for 15 and up.

Ride on the Austin Steam Train: Go back in time and take a full day train ride out into the Texas Hill Country on the Betram Flyer or the Hill Country Flyer.  Fun adventure for the whole family.

Stunt Ranch Offerings: Located Southwest of Austin, the Stunt Ranch offers fun things such as classes in pyrotechnics to Action Hero training.  They also have a pretty cool paintball course like never seen before.  The Stunt Ranch is a great location for your child's next party too.  We are definitely checking this place out this year!

And there you go - your shopping is all done! Your welcome.
