So here ya go -
TEN ways to Get Wet at SeaWorld San Antonio this summer:
One of the most "successful" ways to get wet this summer at SeaWorld is to sit in the Splash Zones at One Ocean! Personally, I think it is crazy, but I know that most people love it when Shamu and friends take their ginormous tail and splash you til your soaked. However, just last week, we laughed and laughed watching all the people start running up the stairs once they realized that "splash" really means "soaked". But see if I think it's crazy come August......
There are also Splash Zones at Azul too! Though, truth be told the splash from the dolphins is no where close to Shamu's. I think the masterminds at SeaWorld had something a bit different in mind as to where the splashes in this show come from (see below). And lastly, there is a tiny splash zone at Cannery Row Caper. Just look down at the benches when you are finding your seats for the shows - look for "Splash Zone"!
One of most favorite ways to watch people get wet at SeaWorld is with the Pre-Show Entertainment. SeaWorld does a dynamite job at keeping you entertained while waiting for the shows to start. And my kids' favorite is the "Funny Guy" before the Azul show. If you are not careful where you sit, can get you soaked before the show even begins! I don't want to give away too much about it, cause it's really funny.....and even funnier for those unsuspecting folks who might get wet.....
Like any great park in the south, SeaWorld has some fun water rides. A big favorite is the Journey to Atlantis - and you can get wet TWO ways with this ride. Take the traditional route and sit pretty much in any seat to get wet. Or if you are looking for a quick way to cool down, just stand at the bottom of the ride and every 2 minutes or so, you are guaranteed to get soaked!
Another fun water ride and the #7 way to cool down at SeaWorld is on the Rio Loco Water Rafting Ride. This large "inner tube" ride take you and a group of your friends down a series of rapids, twisting and turning under waterfalls that will definitely cool you off. Just don't let the driest seat fool you when you start the ride - everyone is fair game here. And I think the driest seat always gets the most splashes.....
A great place for the little ones to cool down is at the Little Bird's Splash at the Sesame Street Bay of Play. Probably one of the most gently places to play and splash at SeaWorld, most ages can enjoy this area.
One of the most unique ways to get wet at SeaWorld is to get in the water with the animals. And while there are several Animal Encounters that allow this, the easiest one that doesn't require reservations is the Stingray Encounter at Aquatica. At certain times, you are allowed to wade in the Stingray pool with a guide and touch and feel the stingrays. No need to feel scared here, these gentle creature swim around your feet and allow you to touch and feed them. It's an amazing experience.
And the most obvious way to get wet at SeaWorld is at it's newest water park, Aquatica! With multiple water rides, wave pool, splash areas, and more, Aquatica is the perfect place to cool down on a hot day at SeaWorld. Entry is an additional admission but a great deal to have a little fun in the water. We are actually heading back there this weekend (yes - March 23 - this is why we live in Texas y'all - to enjoy waterparks in MARCH!) to spend the day at Aquatica and I can't wait to try out all the fun.
With all these great ways to cool down at SeaWorld San Antonio, don't let the heat stop you from planning a trip there. Just don't forget your towel.....
On a side note, I was thrilled to be selected to be a SeaWorld San Antonio Wildside Blogger, where I will have insider access to all things SeaWorld. I have always been a BIG fan of the park, and I can't wait to tell you all more about it in the upcoming months!
