Friday Daydreamin: Where's The Sun?

Whew! Welcome to July!  It is H-O-T here in the Midwest where we have spent the last week- vastly different from Florida.

You may or may not know, we are in the middle of vacation and were in the Sunny state of Florida all last week.  But it didn't start off so sunny......
We arrived in Florida just in time to welcome the outer bands of Tropical Storm Debby and our first official day in Santa Rosa Beach looked like this.  The forecasters predicted we'd have weather like this most of the week.  But we made the best of it - lots of good books, games, and a walk in the rain ended up being the perfect start to a very restful week.

The sun made an appearance the middle of the next day and decided to stick around the rest of the week, making for a wonderful time on the Florida beaches!

Ever have an unexpected start to a vacation? Post a picture and tell us all about it! Or just show us more of your favorite vacation pics - I love visiting all the places you show us each week! Can't do much about the weather but make the best of it! Hope you get nothing but blue skies for the rest of your vacation!

Glad that your Florida trip turned out to be a good relaxing one. The weather doesn't always turn out as we'd like. I remember a trip to the Bahamas where the sun didn't shine for the first 3-4 days. When it did come out, I was so happy that I was very foolish and got dangerously sunburned.

Sorry to hear about the start of your vacation, Becca! Weather always throws us for a loop but not fun when on a beach vacation. Have a safe and fun Midwest vacation.

Looks like the North Atlantic! Very pretty, but not what you want on vacation. Glad to hear you had a good time, despite the weather.

Hate when that happens and I'm sometimes tempted to stay put. But then I think, it's MY vacation, I can't let a little rain ruin it. Glad the weather cooperated in the end but if it had been sunny, you wouldn't gotten this dramatic photo!

Your photo reminds me of our family reunions in Washington State - in a good way. Sometimes weather can force us to be creative and make good memories in different ways. It sounds like you made the best of it!

I'm dreaming of the beach right now... but yes, the sun is kind of part of that dream as well :)
