5 Fun Things to do on New Years Eve in Austin, TX ~ 2013


Don't let all the planning for Christmas get in the way of your New Year's Eve!!  There are some FUN things to do out there!!

Here are 5 Fun New Year's Events for Family in Austin:

Austin's New Year
This annual free event on Auditorium Shores where Austin families can come together to welcome in the New Year. ANY is an alcohol-free celebration showcasing Austin's diverse and talented creative community through art, films, and live music. There will be shows appropriate for all ages, as well as workshops and food. The exciting fireworks finale at 10 pm features a traditional Scottish Pipe & Drum band.

Austin's Park n' Pizza New Year's Eve Party
Take the whole family to this fun event and receive unlimited rides and pizza all day.  They have face painting, great prizes and a balloon drop planned at 2 pm.

Hyatt Regency Lost Pines New Years Eve Event
Earlier this week, I told y'all all about the fun you could have as a family out at the Hyatt Regency Lost Pines.  A Jamboree, Wagon Rides, S'Mores, and fireworks are just a small hint of the fun you could have.

Create Your Own Fun!
As there is not much to do that is family friendly on New Year's Eve here in Austin, why not create your own fun?  Pick a fun restaurant as a family and go check out those lights you were unable to get to during the Christmas week.  Many listed here are still on through January 1!

Commitment Day
This multi-city event is about starting a movement to commit to a healthier lifestyle.  Everyone is invited to participate in this downtown 5K (kids included- free) starting at 10 am on New Year's Day.  It's a pretty cool event happening nationwide and a great way to kick off 2014!
