The Annual Community March celebrates Dr. Martin Luther King’s legacy while uplifting diversity and multi-culturalism in our city. After the march, a Celebration Festival and Community Food Drive will take place all day featuring vendors & local musical artists.

Harlem Globetrotters: Fans Rule 2014

It's hard to believe that the Harlem Globetrotters have been entertaining fans for almost 88 years now!! This year, they allowed the fans to vote on new rules to add to their basketball fun.  Check out some of the new moves at this event.

Westcave Preserve Star Party

Take a tour of the night skies at Westcave, a dark sky location convenient to the Austin area. Star nights are an ideal opportunity to enjoy an evening gazing at the stars through a high-quality telescope.

Texas Military Forces Museum
Spend a chilly day checking out the BG John C.L. Scribner Texas Military Forces Museum and see some pretty cool exhibits - tanks, helicopters, war vehicles, a chunk of the Berlin Wall, and more.  Both my girl & my boy enjoyed this museum!

Have you been training??  No worries if you haven't! This race also features a Paramount 5K to benefit the Stateside & Paramount Theaters. If your not into running any of it, take the family down to cheer the racers on!

President's Day at LBJ Presidential Library
February 17, 2014 - and Anytime
I can't think of a better way to spend President's Day than at the LBJ Presidential Library.  This is a great place to teach the kids about political history in both Texas and the Nation.  This museum offers free admission on both President's Day and Martin Luther King day (Jan 20). 

February 19 - March 9, 2014
One of Broadway's most exciting new musicals is back in Austin.  Wicked is the story of the ever-poplar witches from The Wizard of Oz.  It's a great family show.

The Cat in the Hat

Sally and her brother are stuck home in the rain, when a Cat comes knocking at the window pane! The ZACH Theatre presents the best children's performances - don't miss this one!

Cirque du Soleil: Varekai
February 26 - March 2, 2014
This unique circus performance comes to the Cedar Park Center for 9 performances only, with the story of Varekai, a tribute to a nomadic soul.  Cirque du Soleil performances leave you amazed and breathless - fun for the whole family. 

Check out the new Thinkery
Thinkery, Austin's newly-designed Children's Museum, opened in a new location in December and is FANTASTIC.  The cold months are a perfect time to check all the fun exhibits out.  Take a peek at the calendar before you go and you might be able to take part in one of their family events, storytime, yoga,  and more.  Here are our thoughts on the new location. 

Rodeo Austin
March 1-16, 2014

Pacific Combat Living History Re-enactments
March 8 & 9, 2014
History comes to life with a World War II battle re-enactment including uniformed actors, guns, tanks and a flamethrower!   At the Pacific Combat Zone of the National Museum of the Pacific War in Fredericksburg.
